"The BSG gives students feedback on their decision-making that case analysis cannot provide, experience of the truth that the best laid plans may not work out in light of simultaneous moves by competitors. I especially like to see how students take on the responsibilities of the firm, look up what they need to know, struggle to survive and glow with success. The school cafeteria and the computer lab are abuzz with enthusiasm as the teams prepare, discuss, discard, and redevelop their strategies. Other undergraduates are amazed to see what happens to those in the BSG class. And when they present and defend their actions in the final board meeting, I am impressed each time with the fullness of commitment and ownership, each firm imprinted with a personality, a uniqueness that comes from giving their best. The BSG gives students a valuable opportunity to act their way into new ways of thinking."
